Eight in 10 fleets EV-ready, says Drive to Zero data
Nearly eight in 10 light commercial vehicles (79%) are EV-ready, meaning they could take on enough energy to carry out their daily duties if they were electric.
This is according to Northgate Vehicle Hire’s Drive to Zero Transition Hub, which assessed 1,329 light commercial vehicles between 1 July 2024 and 1 August 2025.
The Transition Hub is part of Northgate’s wider Drive to Zero initiative, which provides fleet managers with a scalable, evidence-based method of planning their electric LCV transition.
Using real customer data, it creates bespoke reports to help businesses understand their readiness for change without any upfront cost.
Josh Hooper, Northgate Vehicle Hire head of product and specialist sales, said: “Electrification can feel complex, but with the right data and support, it quickly becomes actionable.
“Our Drive to Zero Transition Hub is helping customers see where EVs make sense today – and plan confidently for the future. The fact that nearly 80% of vehicles assessed are already EV-ready shows how real and achievable this shift has become.”
