Dacia ranked number on in electric vehicle searches
New research has found that Dacia has topped all electric vehicle searches on the Auto Trader platform so far this month.
Analysis of visits to the site have revealed that Dacia has generated a 9.6% share of all brand-new electric enquiries in June, up from 3.6% in just four weeks.
Meanwhile, the Spring is currently the most popular new EV on Auto Trader accounting for nearly one in 10 (9.8%) of all new electric model enquiries.
BMW is in second place with 9.5% of searches, followed by Renault (8.9%), with the Renault 5 the second most popular new EV model.
All fuel types
Across all fuel types, Land Rover’s Range Rover Sport is the most sought-after model with four per cent of shares, while the Jaecoo 7 attracted three per cent of buyer interest. This is the fourth time it has made the top 10, climbing from 10th in March to seventh in May and third in May.
The data also found that the average new car discount across all fuel types increased slightly from 8.9% in May to 9.2% this month, with EV discounts up from 10.2% to 10.4%.
Bex Kennett, performance director, said: “The new car market remains buoyant as we head into the summer months, with healthy levels of consumer interest for brand new cars on our platform. This includes the rapidly expanding electric segment of the market, which is providing car buyers with more choice than ever.
“Critically we’re seeing more affordable options enter the market, which as reflected in the popularity of the Dacia Spring, is helping make the switch to electric far more accessible for the average car buyer. With more options available and rising discounts helping to further entice buyers, our outlook for the market remains a confident one.”
