Car-O-Liner hosts IMI Skills Competitions masterclass

The six finalists in the Automotive Body Repair discipline of the IMI Skills Competition attended a hands-on masterclass at Car-O-Liner’s training centre recently.

The session provided real-world experience with the tools and equipment that will be used at the National Finals this November.

Stuart Alexander, managing director, Car-O-Liner (UK), said: “Mentoring and training are my passions and it is great to give something back to an industry that has been so good to me. Seeing the talent, calibre and drive of these young people is a reward in itself.”

Sarah Whiteside-Jones, director of membership engagement and public affairs at the IMI said: “The IMI Skills Competitions not only champion the vocational skills that are so critical to the automotive sector but also celebrate the most talented young students and apprentices working within it.

“The masterclasses provide a unique opportunity for the finalists to develop their skills ahead of the November finals and participants had a fantastic day gaining valuable experience they can take through into their future careers. We look forward to celebrating their success at the finals in November.”

The six finalists are Belal Al Haka from FMG RS, Chloe Chan from Poole Accident Repair, Harley Chambers from Steer Automotive Group, Joseph Cullen from Wright’s Accident Repair Centre, Owen Thomas from BP Rolls, and Ryan Davies from Nigel Whann Accident Repair Centre.
