BookMyGarage launches SMART and cosmetic repair services

BookMyGarage has introduced SMART and cosmetic repair services to boost the annual £93m revenue it generates for repairers on its platform.

In addition to capturing MOT and service work for the independent and franchised sector, its new SMART and cosmetic repair services have been launched in response to increased demand from motorists and following intensive testing to develop a simple online estimate process.

The solution enables customers to specifically cite the area where work is required and upload photos of the damage. Once the booking is made, the repairer contacts the customer directly to triage and provide a more accurate quote following an assessment of the images.

Franchised workshops and independent repairers which offer SMART and cosmetic repairs together with bodyshops and mobile cosmetic repairers can all take advantage of the new service.

Growing demand

Jessica Potts, chief marketing officer at BookMyGarage, said: “Increasingly, our data shows that consumers are largely very specific about the aftercare services they require for their vehicles. Our platform has evolved to match these changing consumer behaviours and to ensure we are in the best place to drive even more incremental retail custom to our partners.

“However, due to the specific nature of work required, it has been notoriously difficult to migrate cosmetic and SMART repair services to the online booking space. We have worked tirelessly with some of our partners to develop a process to facilitate this on our platform and can now drive incremental business to SMART and cosmetic repairers.

“Consumers are provided with a simple online estimate tool and can compare options in the local area. To provide consumers with the choice they expect and the widest availability, we are also looking to onboard additional repairers to meet expected demand.”
