Bodyshop celebrates success at Automechanika Birmingham 2025

Bodyshop Magazine has hailed its expanded involvement in Automechanika Birmingham last week (3-5 June) as a major success, following three days of productive networking with repairers and the body repair supply chain at the NEC.
In partnership with Automechanika UK, Bodyshop provided a meeting hub for the repair sector with its 48-sqm Bodyshop Magazine Lounge, and alongside Solera Audatex supported the Body Repair Live stage which featured a series of compelling industry-focused talks across the three days.

Bodyshop editor Simon Wait said as Bodyshop celebrates success: “There were many highlights for me at the show, not least our amazing Bodyshop Mag team, but the best has to be our free BODYSHOP BUZZ party powered by Core Diagnostics, who flew in a first-rate DJ to lift the event several notches following its debut at the UK Garage and Bodyshop Event (UKGBE) last year. A huge thank you to Core and to the master of the decks, Gareth Matchett.
“Because of the party’s growing popularity – there were 221 people in attendance this year – we once again had to ‘borrow’ quite a few extra cases of Pravha and wine from another function taking place over in the mechanical area. We’re already buzzing with ideas for how we can make it even better next time around.”
Hundreds of the estimated 6,750 bodyshop, detailing and garage end-user visitors found their way to the Bodyshop Magazine Lounge on each of the three days, largely thanks to Bodyshop’s giant balloon which one repairer described as being like the North Star: “You can see it from every corner of the NEC and it’s been a great way to navigate the show.”
Wait continued: “The quality and number of repair sector exhibitors has steadily grown since we first got involved with Automechanika UK at the 2022 UKGBE show, and it has seen a massive swell this year with more companies from the repairer supply chain showcasing their products and services to a growing bodyshop audience which accounted for more than a quarter of all attendees.”
Next year’s UKGBE (3-4 June 2026 at the NEC) – which takes place in the alternate years between the biennial Automechanika Birmingham mega-shows – is expected to bring together nearly 200 leading suppliers with 5,000-plus bodyshop, detailing and garage professionals visiting over the two days of the event.
With a greater focus on training and learning opportunities, UKGBE 2026 will host an interactive exhibition, live demonstrations, workshops and panel discussions with leading industry experts. And Bodyshop Magazine will be there as well supporting the collision repair sector.
