BCA sells record number of EVs in run-up to festive break
Ongoing demand for zero-emission vehicles continues to fuel interest in used EVs at BCA, leading to a record number of EVs being sold before the festive break.
The second week of December saw more than 1,200 electric vehicles sold, the highest weekly sales volumes for this product type on record.
Record number of EVs
BCA COO Stuart Pearson said of the record number of EVs sold: “Despite the usual seasonal easing [going] into December, and with the ongoing narrative around the implications of the budget announcements on the future pence per mile charge for EVs, last week BCA recorded the highest number of EVs ever sold in a week. This confidence mirrors the new EV market with zero emissions vehicles accounting for over 50% of new car sales in November according to the SMMT.”
BCA boasts a strong line-up of EV makes and models, giving buyers access to a wide choice of electric vehicles through the platform’s online sales programme. Add in BCA’s Battery Health Grading service which the company said delivers “an unbiased and detailed analysis tool for determining battery health on used EVs”, it is an engaging proposition for professional buyers who can bid on EVs with confidence.
Pearson added: “Throughout 2025, BCA has continued to invest in and refine the remarketing process for EVs, particularly in terms of the quality of information we share through our Battery Health Grading and BCA EV Assured reports. This helps build confidence in the process for both sellers and buyers alike which is translating into a significant growth in sales.
“The EV marketplace continues to mature across the wider used vehicle sector and BCA will continue to support growth and innovation in this sector to meet the needs of our customers.”
