Auto Windscreens announces IMI-certified training centre

Auto Windscreens has announced that its Chesterfield-based training facility has become an IMI-certified training centre.

The centre is now the only one in the sector to hold both IMI and GQA accreditations, recognising the company’s commitment to delivering comprehensive training to equip technicians with the highest standards of skills and knowledge in vehicle glass repair, replacement, and calibration.

The news comes shortly seven colleagues from Auto Windscreens’ ADAS and Training teams became the first in the UK to complete IMI’s AOM230 module, a new certification covering ADAS calibration and an official entry route into the IMI’s TechSafe recognition programme.

Tony Green, head of technical training, said: “Every one of our technicians steps through the doors of our Training Centre, benefiting from the exceptional level and quality of training we deliver. Our IMI accreditation is a milestone we are extremely proud of, and we look forward to the rest of the team, including eight regional trainers, completing the IMI AOM230 from the centre.”

Wayne Dyson, business development manager at IMI, added:

“The IMI are excited to welcome Auto Windscreens as an IMI approved centre to deliver IMI ADAS accreditations. ADAS will continue to evolve rapidly, and having staff with the knowledge and skills to work on these systems is essential to meet the needs of the customer.”
