AkzoNobel’s Sustainable Repair Network celebrates landmark
Nearly 500 bodyshops have already been certified or are awaiting certification to the AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinish Sustainable Repair Network.
AkzoNobel launched its SRN two years ago and to date 203 bodyshops in 10 countries across 119 companies have been certified. A further 290 active bodyshops are yet to be certified.
The SRN provides bodyshops and multi-site operators with the tools, support and technical expertise to reduce emissions and embed circularity into their businesses.
It was launched as part of AkzoNobel’s ambition to reduce carbon emissions by 50% throughout its value chain by 2030.
Shared priority
AkzoNobel’s business director for automotive and vehicle refinishes EMEA, Ignacio Román Navarro, said: “Sustainability is a shared priority across the industry from automotive OEMs to insurers and repairers. True progress requires collaboration, and we are proud that so many forward-thinking bodyshops across Europe have joined us and are making meaningful progress.
“It is very encouraging for our Sustainable Repair Network to have achieved this momentum in such a short space of time, and to have so many bodyshops from across Europe engage with our experts.
“We are equipping them to drive lasting, positive transformations in their businesses, as we can meticulously analyse all aspects of their repair processes and operations to pinpoint emission sources and devise effective reduction strategies, enabling them to make tangible progress towards their own targets and prove it to their stakeholders.”
