Aircon bookings quadruple during the summer
Aircon bookings have almost quadrupled on the BookMyGarage platform during the summer.
It has revealed that bookings increased by 220% week on week when temperatures started rising at the start of June.
However, bookings surged by 381% as temperatures soared above 30 degrees later in the month.
Across the first half of the year, aircon bookings on the platform have increased by 69% compared to the first six months of 2024. Meanwhile, summer health check bookings almost tripled (292%) during the same period.
Surging demand
BookMyGarage chief marketing officer Jessica Potts said: “Our booking data shows a clear pattern: demand for aircon servicing spikes reactively during heatwaves – often once temperatures have already peaked – as drivers seek immediate relief from soaring temperatures.
“But by that point, garages may be at capacity, making it harder to secure appointments quickly. Encouraging motorists to book ahead of the heat not only improves their experience but also helps garages manage demand more efficiently.
The aircon servicing and summer health check figures come on the back of a BookMyGarage milestone which saw the platform book in excess of a massive £100m worth of total retail business, including MOTs, servicing and repairs, for its garage partners in the past 12 months.
