McGurk appoints Aston Martin master technician

Independent Aston Martin specialist McGurk Performance Cars has bolstered its team with a second Aston Martin master technician and a new workshop manager.

The company has appointed Gary Crosby to work alongside existing Aston Martin master technician Steve Pocock, while Simon Thorpe has been named new workshop manager.

Crosby, who has worked on all Aston Martin models for more than a quarter of a century, said: “I enjoy problem solving and am very hands on in the workshop, so I’m delighted to join McGurk Performance Cars where I’ll continue to work across the entire spectrum of Gaydon-era Aston Martins.”

John McGurk, owner, McGurk Performance Cars, added:

“I’ve known Gary for over 10 years and I’ve wanted to employ him all that time. It’s really special for us to have two individuals who have both worked on Aston Martins since the 1990s and know everything about them, back to front, upside down and inside out. It means that we can solve problems faster because we know what they are, and diagnosis times will be shorter because we’ve got such an extensive breadth of knowledge and experience.”

The appointments continue a period of expansion for the company, after substantial investment in new factory diagnostic equipment.
