Kia sets new UK sales record

Kia is celebrating a record-breaking year of sales in 2023, having sold 107,765 cars to UK customers.

It finished 2023 as the sixth best-selling brand in the UK with 5.7% market share, and was also the third best-selling brand for electrified models with EVs making up 45% of the brand’s annual UK sales and seven per cent of the UK electrified market.

Paul Philpott, president and CEO of Kia UK, said: “Reaching 100,000 new car sales in 2022 was a hugely significant milestone in this company’s 32-year history. Achieving 107,765 in 2023 shows true and organic growth, rather than a one-off achievement. Setting a new record for EV sales for the year also shows genuine customer appetite for our award-winning range of fully electric vehicles.

“This success is testament to our ever-evolving product line-up and expanding range of innovative customer services. The achievement would also not be possible without the hard-work and dedication of each of our dealer partners across the country, who place huge trust and investment in the Kia brand.”

Going forward, Kia will introduce 15 EV models by 2027 as part of its ‘Plan S’ strategy, nine of which will be available to the UK market.
