FMG Repair Services announced as IMI Skills platinum sponsor

FMG Repair Services has announced that it is an IMI Skills platinum sponsor.

The independent competition, which like the Bodyshop Awards on 19 September 2024, strives to identify the most talented apprentices in the UK automotive industry, will hold its National Qualifiers at vehicle training centres in Daventry, Loughborough and Coventry, including for the first time body and paint being held at the same venue – Morelli’s EyeBox – in May, with successful candidates competing in the competition’s National Finals in Manchester in November.

The annual competition is designed to raise standards and levels of expertise in technical skills, and celebrate success in the industry. Apprentices must demonstrate theoretical knowledge and practical skill across four automotive streams – technology, body repair, refinishing and heavy vehicle technology.

FMG Repair Services invests

FMG Repair Services’ has invested heavily in establishing an industry-leading apprenticeship programme with a dedicated apprentice engagement focus. The three-year programmes align formal learning through block weeks at college with on-the-job training in the bodyshop including specialist skills development, one-to-one mentoring and careers support. New apprentices receive a helping hand for career success with delivery of their own new tool kits containing more than £600 worth of brand new tools.

The company’s dedicated Technical Training Centre provides an all-encompassing range of vehicle repair courses covering panel, paint, welding, ADAS, glass and EV repair, with courses tailored to apprentices and long-serving vehicle repairers.
