Fix Auto celebrates as curtain falls on Momentum conference

Fix Auto Harlow was crowned Fix Auto UK’s Bodyshop of the Year during the network’s highly anticipated Momentum-themed 2024 national conference held at The Vox in Birmingham tonight (9 May).

Presented in front of a record number of sponsors, 360-plus delegates, insurers and suppliers, the Harlow-based business celebrated in style as its presentation by the network’s commercial director Rob Pugh brought the curtain down on the gala event.

While Fix Auto Harlow owner Tony Mann (pictured above centre) may have walked away with the network’s blue riband prize, Fix Auto Sandhurst, which joined in 2019, became the evening’s first double-winning repairer, first being named as the Admiral Insurance Bodyshop of the Year, an accolade that was shortly followed when it was named as the Fix Auto UK ESG Bodyshop of the Year.

The evening was hosted by Mat Watson, a leading automotive YouTuber with more than nine million followers on the video-sharing site and other social media platforms.

For the second successive year Fix Auto Mid Devon was named as the Allianz Insurance Bodyshop of the Year, while Fix Auto West Kensington returned to its winning ways when it was named as the RSA Insurance Bodyshop Award, a prize it last won in 2022.

Fix Auto Stevenage won the Covéa Insurance Customer Service Award and Fix Auto Weston-super-Mare picked up the network’s Outstanding Customer Service Award. Meanwhile, Fix Auto Chessington and Fix Auto Swansea West were presented with the network’s Brand and Integration and Newcomer of the Year awards, respectively.

One of the loudest cheers of the evening rang out for Martin Willis, business development and supplier relations manager, who was named as the network’s Employee of the Year, and Adrian Matthews of Fix Auto Gloucester, who received the Nigel Luffman Award Apprentice of the Year prize.

Sam Smith, managing director of Fix Auto Leeds North, Fix Auto Leeds South, Fix Auto Bradford and Fix Auto Keighley received the network’s Multi-site Operator of the Year prize, and 10th anniversary plaques were also presented to Fix Auto Ayr, Fix Auto Chessington, Fix Auto Crawley, Fix Auto Coalville, Fix Auto Edinburgh West, Fix Auto Deepcut, Fix Auto Lichfield, and Fix Auto Swindon North.

Paying tribute to the award winners, Fix Auto UK’s managing director Ian Pugh, said:

“Once again our awards evening highlighted the breadth of talent we have throughout the organisation and the total commitment to our customers our franchise partners pay to ensure we continually provide an industry-leading service.

“While we have to have winners and my sincere congratulations goes out to every recipient, in reality, each and every franchise partner in our network deserves recognition for the level of service they consistently deliver.

“Every year we seem to raise the bar for our national conference and this year’s event has been no exception. We welcomed a record number of sponsors, delegates, insurers, industry experts and suppliers to a world-class venue that has once again lived up to all of our expectations. As ever, our event has made me extremely proud to lead this organisation.”

Earlier in the day, conference delegates had been treated to a series of inspirational business-focused talks by Jefferies’ Rex Green, former Sainsbury’s boss Justin King, and television’s Fred Sirieix.
