TruckEast rewards loyal service

TruckEast fleet depot supervisor Ben Daniels has completed his apprentice loyalty scheme.

He began working at TruckEast as an apprentice Scania technician in 2013 and after graduating with two-industry recognised qualifications in 2016, he continued to develop his skills as an HGV technician, including achieving his class 1 licence and training as a breakdown technician.

In 2021, after spending time within the workshop office, he stepped into his current role.

The loyalty scheme was introduced to attract and retain the best young talent. It rewards hard work and loyalty and begins the first month an apprentice technician joins the business. Each month, a payment is made into a savings account over 10 years; at the end of which they receive a pay-out.

Group aftersales director Martyn Clipston said: “We’re delighted with the progress Ben has made within TruckEast. Our apprenticeship programme has had some real success stories over the years and Ben’s is a great example. With this years’ intake we will have 40 apprentices currently across the business; an investment that continues our long-term strategy to grow our own technicians, but also, drive the ability to promote from within. We focus on continual training and development for all our staff, and I am very proud of how far Ben has come in the first 10 years of what I hope is a long career with TruckEast.”

Daniels said: “I can’t recommend TruckEast’s Scania apprenticeship scheme enough. It is the best out there. As well as the qualifications, I’ve learnt some great life skills, have a fantastic team around me and the loyalty scheme, well that’s the icing on the cake. It makes all the hard work even more rewarding.”
