Copart awarded environmental accolade

Copart has been awarded a milestone badge from the Ecologi platform for planting 1,000 trees across the UK, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Tanzania, Senegal, and Ethiopia.

The award supports Copart’s ongoing Plan Net Zero commitment.

Copart’s investment into a virtual forest with Ecologi gives the business the option to donate towards reforestation or carbon avoidance schemes. For example, it purchases trees to be planted in the UK for every new enrolee into its Copart Driver Academy.

Meanwhile, Copart’s donations help Ecologi to support projects that are proven to reduce or avoid greenhouse gas emissions.

Jane Pocock, CEO of Copart UK & Ireland, said: Copart has always been committed to environmental sustainability and we’ve played a critical role in the automotive circular economy since our inception in 1982, enabling the recycling and reuse of vehicles and automotive parts, while facilitating access to transportation around the world.

“As a global leader in our field, our customers, partners, and stakeholders quite rightly expect us to continue leading by example, so we continuously review every aspect of our operations to identify more ways in which we can be a more sustainable business. Investing into Ecologi is yet another way we can make a tangible difference to the environment alongside our other Plan-Net-Zero initiatives.”
