Bodyshop magazine winner shares MSO award

Fix Auto Slough owner Ranjit Gill has received the Bodyshop magazine award that was shared with him by Fix Auto Dagenham at last year’s event.

Fix Auto Dagenham was crowned Multi-Site Bodyshop of the Year but directors Paul Cunningham and Neil Parker immediately decided the share the award with fellow finalist Fix Auto Slough.

But, as the gesture was totally unplanned, it meant with the Fix Auto Dagenham name already etched into the award, it was taken to its rightful Essex home. Now, a bespoke replacement has been produced and was presented to Gill and his team.

Gill said: “2022 was a new chapter for my business, we invested heavily in both sites, a programme of investment that resulted in relocating our Slough operation to a new centre designed to meet not only our needs, but brimming with tech to meet the needs of the industry going forward.

“For the first time in our 15-year history I felt in a position where I could confidently enter various industry awards. To be named as a finalist by Bodyshop Magazine was truly an honour and surprise. That was a win for me, but when Paul and Neil generously offered to share it was a complete shock and a wonderful gesture.”

Cunningham added: “Ranjit and his team have worked tirelessly over recent times and thoroughly deserve every accolade they get. Neil and I were unanimous in our decision that, should we win, we would share it.”

Fix Auto UK’s managing director Ian Pugh said: “I know just how hard a business works towards and importance they regard industry awards,  which emphasises just what a incredible gesture Paul and Neil made sharing the Multi-Site prize. But, it’s nothing less than I’d expect from two of the finest guys in the business and is a direct reflection of what being part of Fix Auto UK is about.”

Simon Wait, Bodyshop magazine editor, said: “The Multi-site Bodyshop of the Year category was a very tight race in 2022 so it is great to see the winning team at Fix Auto Dagenham sharing this award with close runners-up Fix Auto Slough. A huge well-deserved congratulations to both groups of bodyshops.”
