Auto Windscreens records busiest spell

Auto Windscreens recorded its busiest days on record on Tuesday, 11 April, with its second busiest day coming less than a week later on Monday, 17 April.

It also saw the highest volume of jobs per work day over Easter half term (3-14 April).

Vehicle glass repair and replacements increased by more than a third during this period (33.4%), compared to last year.

James MacBeth, managing director of Auto Windscreens, said: “In the weeks leading up to half term, we were already seeing an 18.9% rise in job volumes, but the levels we saw over Easter were unprecedented. An increase in traffic on the roads as more people took day trips and holidays is likely to be a contributing factor.”

According to the Department of Transport, traffic volumes on 6 April 2023 were 101% of the levels during the first week of February 2020 and up nine per cent up on 7 April last year.

MacBeth said: “I’m exceptionally proud of our whole team in ensuring this additional demand had no effect on our service levels. We’re here to get people back on the road, and that’s just what we’ll continue to do, as we look forward to the next big getaway in the summer.”
