Euro NCAP reveals safety stars

All six of the models assessed in Euro NCAP’s latest tests received either four or five-star safety ratings.

The fully electric Volvo C40 Recharge has been awarded a five-star safety rating, continuing the brand’s five-star streak in Euro NCAP testing, as all tested Volvo models on sale today have received five stars in their respective Euro NCAP assessments.

The C40 Recharge scored especially well on occupant safety and driver-assist systems, helped by one of the most extensive standard safety offers in its segment.

Also scoring five stars was the fully electric Kia EV6, which achieved a strong 90% result in the Adult Occupant Protection category, the Volkswagen Multivan and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, while the Peugeot 308 and Vauxhall Astra were rated four-stars.

Matthew Avery, chief research strategy officer, said: “These latest results show that the vast majority of carmakers are working in partnership with Euro NCAP and continuing to increase safety for the benefit of the drivers and other road users, resulting in four and five-star cars across a spectrum of price points, sizes and styles.”
