Auto Windscreens sets 2045 net zero target

Auto Windscreens has announced it aiming to achieve net zero by 2045 – five years ahead of the overall goal set by the Paris Agreement.

It became the first windscreen provider to publish its action plan which includes deliverables in Scope 1 and 2 as well as Scope 3, while key activities include having a fully electric fleet by 2035, removing all fossil fuelled heating systems in its buildings, engaging with its supply chain to ensure best practices are being adhered to and continuing its carbon offsetting programme.

The target is to be net zero in its Scope 1 and 2 by 2035, realise an 82% reduction in Scope 3 by 2040 and net zero as a business by 2045.

Shaun Atton, business support director, said: “ESG is critical to every person and every industry and at Auto Windscreens, we take our responsibility seriously. Putting in place tangible environmental plans quickly has been a key focus for me and announcing they’ve been prepared for submission to the SBTi is an important milestone in our journey.

“We will be championing the importance of the initiative with our partners, customers and suppliers and will be further embedding the ethos and culture with our own colleagues. Together we can make a huge difference.”
