Toyota introduces remote assessment technology

Toyota GB has announced that its Toyota and Lexus approved networks will be encouraged to use Audatex’s bodyshop image capture technology.

Audatex Bodyshop Image Capture allows users to interact with customers in a digital-first, contactless format. Customers receive an SMS request for images of their vehicle’s condition via their smartphone, and are then guided by a seven-step process to obtain images of the vehicle condition and damage, with no download required.

Paul Clack, Toyota (GB) PLC said: “We are delighted to support such innovations as image capture within our approved networks. The market for the majority of 2021 is going to be challenging for all and our priority is the health and wellbeing of our customers and team members. We believe that the technology will support social distancing, protect our customers, help the operational efficiency of our vehicle damage assessors, and speed of repairs.”
