New training platform launched for bodyshops

LKQ Euro Car Parts has launched a new training platform for independent garages and bodyshops.

The LKQ Academy will be available to LKQ customers across Europe and features a full range of practical and online courses for UK users to suit any level of technician, along with 10 free skills tests so customers can assess their knowledge and build a bespoke training plan to support their development.

Existing customers of the outgoing AutoEducation Academy in the UK and Republic of Ireland can log into the new LKQ Academy website with their current account details, and memberships and prices are unchanged.

Adam White, workshop solutions director, said: “Vehicles are getting cleaner and smarter all the time, and drivers have increasingly high expectations of service levels. Learning and development is vital to ensuring garages can keep up – and those that make the move first have an exciting opportunity to get ahead and enjoy a competitive advantage locally.”

LKQ Euro Car Parts is on track to have trained more than 1,500 technicians in hybrid and EV repair this year. Courses are available at levels two, three and four, and all are part of the IMI’s Tech Safe Scheme. Other course areas include advanced diagnostics, braking and engine management supporting the front of house teams with customer service courses including customer management and social media training as well as marketing.

Signing up for LKQ Academy is free. Courses can be completed and paid for on a one-off basis, or unlimited access with a 12-month gold membership costs £1,499. Courses are fully accredited by the IMI and City & Guilds.
