BASF signs environmental pact

BASF’s Automotive Refinish division has teamed up with ECA Business Energy to help it achieve carbon neutral growth until 2030 as part of its mission to achieve net zero status by 2050.

ECA Business Energy has worked hand in hand with over 400 bodyshops since 2009 and since 2020 has also been supporting them to achieve PAS 2060 accreditation.

As part of the partnership, BASF brands Glasurit and R-M will become the recommended refinish paints for all UK bodyshop businesses signed with ECA Business Energy from a carbon reduction perspective.

Steve Silverwood, managing director of ECA Business Energy, said: “ECA are delighted to be partnering with BASF in helping support their network on their carbon neutral journey. It is very clear that BASF have a positive vision on the future of the environment both through their products and services and also through their relationships. We look forward to working with them over the coming years as we head down the road towards net zero.”
