Groupe PSA planning resumption of operations
Groupe PSA is planning a timetable for the gradual resumption of work, after devising a range of coronavirus safety measures which it believes goes beyond the recommended steps.
As examples, this protocol requires taking employees’ temperatures, wearing masks with daily individual supply, while also respecting safety distances between people in meeting rooms, at each station and in break zones with markings on the ground.
The company is also planning to keep doors open (except fire doors) to avoid contact with the handles, cleaning and disinfecting tools and work surface every 60 minutes, waiting times of three hours during any exchange of parts (hand to hand), and lengthening breaks by five minutes to wash hands.
Further, there will be a separation of 30 minutes between the teams’ rounds to avoid staff crossing and even the doubling of the bus collection lines for guarantee passenger spacing.
Groupe PSA chairman Carlos Tavares said: “We will not compromise on the health of our employees so that the industrial restart necessary for the sustainability of the company can be carried out under optimal conditions. I have every confidence in the ability of the employees to help get out of this crisis without fatality. Our fighting spirit and our collective mental strength are among the many assets that we put at the service of our fellow citizens.”
