Autotech Recruit waives industry fees

Autotech Recruit is waiving its permanent recruitment fees for the automotive aftermarket in a bid to help the industry return to full strength.

A new initiative, which will launch on 1 July, follows a significant rise in enquiries from vehicle technicians for permanent employment opportunities.

Throughout the course of the pandemic, a growing number of skilled technicians have been searching for vehicle technician roles. And, with an anticipated spike of cars due for MOT and servicing, it is vital that workshops are fully resourced to manage demand.

However, if industry bosses don’t initiate recruitment, there is a risk that these skilled vehicle technicians will be lured away to other industries – a trend which was witnessed during the 2008 financial crisis.

Simon King, MD of Autotech Recruit, said: “We have observed increasing numbers of technicians seeking employment. It is vital that, as an industry, we protect and retain this skill set.

“The aftermarket needs to ensure they are fully resourced to manage the spike in business expected over the next few months.

“However, recruitment drives can take time. As a result, we are waiving our permanent recruitment fee for the next three months for all aftermarket businesses who employ one of our temporary vehicle testers or MOT testers to cover any labour shortfalls quickly in the interim.”
