Ryan Jones is world class

JCC’s (Just Car Clinics) Ryan Jones has been selected to represent the UK at this year’s WorldSkills competition which is taking place in August in San Paolo, Brazil.

Team UK is going for Gold, competing against 1,000 of the most talented apprentices and learners from around the world in more than 35 skills at the event in Brazil, and Ryan will be competing in the Autobody Repair category.

WorldSkills is the global hub for skills excellence and development. The organization represents more than 45 skills in 72 countries and regions. The members all work together with youth, educators and industries to help prepare the workforce and talent of today for the jobs of the future.

Ryan, who is an apprentice panel technician at Just Car Clinic Hinckley, is absolutely overjoyed at his selection and is immensely proud to have the opportunity to represent the UK in this category. Even more proud is Ryan’s father, Gavin Jones, who also works at Just Car Clinic Hinckley as a fully qualified panel technician. Ryan is clearly following in his father’s footsteps in his chosen profession.

In the final days of the competition before the selection of Team UK, Ryan was supported by whole team of people from Just Car Clinics including Dawn Swales, HR & training manager, Mick Murray, general manager Hinckley, Barry Whittles, CEO, along with his father Gavin.  Seeing first-hand the dedication and support that Gavin has given Ryan throughout the competition thus far, Barry Whittles saw it only fitting that Gavin should be able to see Ryan through the entire event and Just Car Clinics will be sending him over to Brazil with Ryan to do just that. Barry Whittles said ‘We are incredibly proud of what Ryan has already achieved in this competition, and know that his father Gavin has been a pivotal support for Ryan throughout. Here at Just Car Clinics, despite our size, we are very much a family focused business and therefore it was an absolute no brainer that we send Gavin to Brazil to see his son through to the end of this competition.’

The competition calendar for Brazil is from 11 to 16 August 2015 and there will be daily highlights of the competition on a dedicated Youtube Channel: wsukofficial as well as regular updates on Twitter @worldskillsuk.

Everyone at Just Car Clinics is routing for Ryan and wishing him and the rest of Team UK all the very best of luck.
