Industry colleagues with a technical interest and experience in the ADAS field are cordially invited by Euro NCAP, NHTSA and IIHS to attend the Harmonised Future 3D Vehicle Test Target event, hosted by Thatcham Research on Tuesday 28th July 2015 at Hullavington Airfield, Wiltshire, UK.
This is your chance to gain an insight into 3D car target developments to date, see them in action on platform propulsion systems and engage with representatives from the above organisations and key stakeholders to influence the concept and design of the future test target.
We very much welcome attendees who wish to present and/or exhibit on the subject, be it regarding target concepts or prototypes, operational experience with such test targets and equipment etc. so please do contact us if you would like to contribute.
The general format for the day will be:
09:00 Arrival and sign in
Welcome and introduction, followed by presentations on subjects including
- Future test requirements and the demand for such a target
- 3D car target specification and design concepts for replicating the attributes of a real vehicle whilst maintaining impactability
- Target propulsion systems – design and capability
- Operational experience testing with car targets
Networking lunch
On track demonstrations, including but by no means limited to:
- ABD/DRI Guided Soft Target platform
- DSD UFO platform
- DRI car target
Regroup, debrief and next steps
