Employers aim to reduce fleet emissions

The world is developing an ever increasing awareness for the need to slash carbon emissions, and employers are set to play an integral role in building a greener nation. The latest statistics indicate that an impressive 54% of employers are adopting more eco-friendly vehicles, and Fleet Evolution is fuelling the revolution with its huge range of energy efficient cars.

Thanks to the UK’s leading car salary sacrifice scheme providers, businesses can simultaneously slash the carbon footprints of their fleets while offering employees attractive corporate benefits.

The figures come from the Employee Benefits/Alphabet Fleet research 2015 and reveal that over half of the UK’s employers are taking steps to ‘greenify’ their fleets. This is a fantastic reflection of the UK’s nationwide commitment to creating a greener, more eco-friendly Great Britain. The transition is largely stimulated by the ’20-20-20’ targets that call on the UK to overhaul its approach to energy efficiency. Set by EU leaders in March 2007, the climate and energy package encompasses three key targets – A 20% reduction in EU greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels, raising the share of EU energy consumption produced from renewable resources to 20% and instilling a 20% improvement in the EU’s energy efficiency. With transport accounting for 21% of the UK’s total greenhouse gas emissions in 2013, cars are a key area to target.

Andrew Leech, director of Fleet Evolution said, ‘It’s great to see employers stepping up and taking responsibility for their role in helping the UK achieve its ‘20-20-20’ targets. We’re helping fast-track the eco-friendly insurgency with our next generation eco-friendly vehicles that give employers the chance to slash corporate fleet emissions while offering staff the UK’s most popular employee benefit.’

For employers wanting to lacerate vehicle emissions Fleet Evolution offers a myriad of choice. The Czero and Nissan Leaf are two of its most popular models that are perfect for zipping around town. The luxurious BMW i8 is a premier choice for drivers in search of sports car aesthetics and exceptional on-road efficiency while the 9kWh battery pack, 95 horsepower electric motor and six cylinder petrol engine of the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid is an ultra-stylish option for well-heeled clients. For unsurpassed power the full size family SUV Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV delivers on efficiency, comfort and grunt while the exclusively electric Tesla Model X is a dream for urbanites wanting to farewell petrol stations for good.
