The price of petrol has gone up more than 3p a litre in the last three weeks while diesel has increased by 4p. The RAC has called for more action around fuel prices after saying that nothing has changed following an investigation into retail prices by the Competition and Markets Authority. The price of diesel rose 8p a litre in September, with petrol up 4.5p during the month. Diesel increased from 154.78p to 163.11p, making it the fifth largest rise since 2000. Petrol prices rose again in July, while diesel prices remained stable. The average price of petrol has fallen below 145p a litre for the first time in 18 months, according to the latest data from RAC Fuel Watch.
