The price of diesel rose 8p a litre in September, with petrol up 4.5p during the month. Diesel increased from 154.78p to 163.11p, making it the fifth largest rise since 2000. Auto Trader has reported that rising prices on the forecourt have invigorated interest in electric vehicles.
