AutoRaise names Steve Fowler as Patron

Automotive charity AutoRaise has announced that journalist and broadcaster Steve Fowler has joined as a Patron.

His appointment comes after working with AutoRaise as host at the Alliances event held recently at Eyebox, which brought together employers, insurers, industry partners, apprentices and other stakeholders.

As Patron, he will help raise awareness of the charity’s work, support key campaigns and events and use his experience and industry connections to help AutoRaise reach new audiences.

Fowler said: “I’ve spent my career seeing first-hand the extraordinary range of people, skills and opportunities within the automotive industry. We need to make sure the next generation sees them, too.

“I’ve really enjoyed getting to see the brilliant work AutoRaise is doing and have met plenty of the inspiring young people who’ve benefitted from the charity’s efforts. I’m delighted to become a Patron and to help even more people find out what an exciting, creative and fulfilling career they can have in automotive.”

Emma Speed, managing director of AutoRaise, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Steve as a Patron. He understands this industry incredibly well, but just as importantly, he understands how to tell its stories.

“There are some brilliant careers available in automotive repair, yet too many young people still have a very limited idea of what our industry looks like or where it could take them. Changing that requires us to communicate differently and to make sure young people hear from the people and businesses who can bring those opportunities to life.

“Steve has already been incredibly supportive of AutoRaise and having him alongside us as a Patron will help us take that message much further.”
