Silverlake supports police tackling illegal e-bikes

Silverlake Automotive Recycling is supporting Sussex Police and Dorset Police in removing illegal e-bikes, e-motorcycles and e-scooters from public roads.

Illegal e-scooters, non-compliant e-bikes and unlawfully ridden e-motorcycles can pose significant risks to pedestrians and other road users.

Both forces have dedicated operations targeting illegal e-bikes and e-scooters, and have recently introduced a ‘no returns’ policy which sees unregistered and illegal vehicles destroyed.

Silverlake is supporting this by providing both forces with the specialist vehicle destruction service needed to ensure seized vehicles are responsibly disposed of and permanently removed from circulation.

Allen Prebble, managing director at Silverlake Automotive Recycling said: “At Silverlake, we greatly value our strong and collaborative relationships with both Sussex Police and Dorset Police. Working as partners, we’ve been able to support their vital efforts in promoting public safety and tackling crime, while showcasing the importance of responsible vehicle recycling.

“We’re proud to play our part in contributing to these initiatives that help to keep people safe by responsibly depolluting and crushing the seized vehicles to ensure they cannot end up back on the road, or in the hands of criminal gangs to use for repeated criminal activity.”
