Digital presence expectations rise among repairers
New research has revealed that independent repairers are demanding more than from their digital presence.
An audit of 170 five-star Google Reviews for specialist Garage Services Online identified three clear themes among repairers moving to GSO: generating more enquiries and bookings, improving digital presence without disruption, and working with a provider that understands the sector.
It found that modern independent workshops no longer see a website as a standalone digital brochure. Instead, they expect it to serve as the central point for a complete lead generation strategy, connecting organic search, social media, video, pay-per-click, and AI content to drive sustainable business growth.
Jim Lang, managing director at Garage Services Online, said: “The feedback shows that garages are no longer looking for a basic website supplier. They want a partner that understands their business and can help turn multi-channel online activity into genuine workshop demand.
“A website today must act as the core hub for a garage’s wider digital footprint. While no single tool can guarantee instant results for every business, the goal is to build an integrated ecosystem that consistently drives profitable work and contributes directly to long-term growth.”
He added: “Having a website is only part of the solution. The real measure of success is whether it acts as an effective hub, integrating everything from SEO and PPC to social media and online booking, to help a garage attract the right customers and generate profitable work.”
