Rich Tomlinson named Thatcham Research insurance director
Thatcham Research has appointed Rich Tomlinson as its first insurance sector director.
Reporting directly to CEO Jonathan Hewett, Tomlinson will lead the organisation’s new Insurance Vertical, created alongside its Automotive and Repair Verticals to help insurers face increasing vehicle complexity, market consolidation and growing pressure on underwriting and claims performance.
He will coordinate how Thatcham Research’s data, research and technical insight support insurers across the full lifecycle, from underwriting and pricing through to claims, while also helping to expand the international adoption of Vehicle Risk Rating (VRR).
Hewett said: “Rich joins us at a pivotal moment for both the automotive and insurance sectors. The pace of change is accelerating, from the transition to new powertrains, to software-defined vehicles and advances in automation and artificial intelligence. At the same time, new market entrants are reshaping the competitive landscape.”
Tomlinson added:
