Euro NCAP safety ratings reveal five-star winners

The latest Euro NCAP safety ratings have been released with the Mercedes-Benz CLA scoring highest among a host of five-star rankings.

It achieved the top safety score after performing strongly in all four categories that make up the overall Euro NCAP rating, scoring 94% in Adult Occupant Protection, 89% in Child Occupant Protection, 93% in Vulnerable Road User, and 85% in Safety Assist.

Also being awarded Euro NCAP’s five-star rankings were the Chery-built Exlantix EV, the Mazda CX-5, Kia’s EV4, the Changan Deepal S05, the MG MG4 EV Urban, Mitsubishi’s Eclipse Cross, Geely’s Starray EM-i, the Porsche Cayenne, and the Volkswagen T-Roc.

Meanwhile, the hydrogen-powered Hyundai NEXO also achieved a five-star score after achieving 90% for Adult Occupant Protection.

Impressive scores

Dr Aled Williams, programme director Euro NCAP, said: “As 2025 draws to a close, Euro NCAP continues to see impressive scores roll in. This is especially pleasing given this year has seen more cars tested than any previous year in the organisation’s history.

“For the most part, car manufacturers continue to respond to our impartial and rigorous testing, improving the safety of their models, generation by generation.

“With new protocols in place from 2026, the bar will be raised higher still, and we look forward to a positive response from carmakers as they continue to prioritise passive and active safety for consumers.”
