Industry mourns sad passing of Brian Kerrison

The industry is mourning the sudden passing of Brian Kerrison, co-owner of Fix Auto Manchester East.

Ian Pugh, managing director, Advantage Group of Companies, said: “It is with profound sadness that I have to share the news of the sudden passing of Brian Kerrison.

“Brian was a deeply respected figure in our industry and a true one-of-a-kind character: warm, funny, passionate, straight-talking, and unmistakably himself. Brian was one of those hugely colourful individuals who, once met, was never forgotten. He was a steadfast advocate and champion of Fix Auto UK since joining the Group while it was in its infancy over here.

“On a personal note, and it’s largely thanks to his up-front and candid manner, Brian was a key franchise partner whom I’ve long respected and, on occasions, turned to for shopfloor guidance.

“Brian and I first met in 2006 when I worked for Audatex, where we formed the beginnings of our long-term friendship. He was a true supporter of me personally and the Fix Auto UK business too.

“In short, when he talked and delivered his thoughts in his own unique style, you listened. There’s no doubt Brian was a true personality who, with his humour and razor-sharp wit, could effortlessly hold a group in the palm of his hand.

“Brian’s passing will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts are with his fellow directors, James and Ed Gore, and the entire team at Fix Auto Manchester East, and especially his wife, Pippa, his brother, John who I know he was very close to and, of course, his children and his wider family and close friends.”
