Train to Gain adopted by Fix Auto Rochester

Fix Auto Rochester has become the first bodyshop to implement RWC Training’s new Continuous Professional Development programme, Train to Gain.

Train to Gain prioritises flexible, relevant training over traditional, repetitive assessment cycles.

Fix Auto Rochester has enrolled 12 technicians onto the programme, spanning 35 individual courses. The curriculum covers core and bolt-on courses such as VDA, panel, paint, jig, MET, wheel alignment, ADAS, F Gas, EV, plastics and glazing.

Crucially, 70% of the programme has been customised to Fix Auto Rochester’s specific operational needs, with training is meticulously tailored for maximum impact.

Fix Auto Rochester has successfully completed a thorough onboarding process, and RWC Training will now track progress and share monthly reports, ensuring clear priorities and progress visibility.

Sustainable training

Robert Dearnaley, managing director at Fix Auto Rochester, which is part of the 4 Elms Group, said: “Adopting Train to Gain was about securing sustainable, future-proof training for our team. No longer are we just assessing technicians, we are upskilling and complying with the BS 10125 standard at the same time.

“The ability to spread our training costs monthly, combined with the removal of extensive travel, brings multiple tangible benefits. It helps with cost certainty and provides significant savings on operational costs.

“Crucially, the reduced travel also directly contributes to our carbon reduction goals. This programme ensures our training investment is sustainable, highly relevant and truly reflective of a forward-thinking business.”

Pivotal moment

Matt Mardell, RWC business development director, added: “This is a pivotal moment for RWC Training and a huge step forward for the industry. Our entire effort in building Train to Gain was focused on creating a programme that complies with BS 10125 and works in the real world, delivering tangible, sustainable benefits like cost reduction and carbon reduction.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Fix Auto Rochester as our first official customer, and we look forward to supporting them in achieving their goals of upskilling their team and driving genuine business change.”
