Tesla Model 3 sales down by more than a quarter

New data has revealed that sales of the Tesla Model 3 have fallen sharply since March.

According to Marketcheck, which provides data on the UK’s used car market, sales of Tesla Model 3’s peaked in March with 2,129 units sold.

However, sales have fallen by nearly 27% in the six months since then, down to just 1,563 units in September.

This decline is in contract to an increase in sales of 30% throughout 2024, with a total of 862 used Tesla 3s sold in January last year compared to by 262 in December.

Falling demand

Alastair Campbell, Marketcheck UK, said: “After strong growth throughout 2024, used Tesla Model 3 sales have seen a noticeable drop in 2025, falling by over 26% between March and September. This noticeable shift suggests that the early surge in demand may be tapering off as the market adjusts.

“While the Model 3 remains one of the most popular used EVs in the UK, this decline could reflect increased competition from other electric models, greater price sensitivity among buyers, or simply a maturing market finding its balance after a period of rapid growth.

“Marketcheck will continue to analyse this developing market.”
