Thinkcar diagnostics range now available from Motor Parts Direct

Thinkcar UK is developing a national relationship with Motor Parts Direct (MPD) to enable more UK workshops and technicians to access its products more easily.

Thinkcar provides advanced diagnostics functionality with solutions starting from under £500.

As a leading national motor factor, MPD currently has nearly 180 branches covering a customer base of many thousands of independent workshops across England and Wales.

Alex Gillbanks, managing director of Impact Diagnostics, the specialist supplier behind Thinkcar UK, said: “We’re collaborating closely with Motor Parts Direct to increase awareness of Thinkcar’s solutions. We realise we’re not yet the best-recognised brand but when garages see the capabilities and the value Thinkcar can offer they soon realise we’re an extremely appealing option.”

The ever-advancing technology of newer cars means workshops need to keep investing in their diagnostics skills, capabilities and equipment in order to be able to complete every-day service and repair jobs.

“It’s not about fixing ‘problem jobs’ anymore,” continued Gillbanks. “Lots of common component replacements or service tasks require technicians to reset service lights or code components to be recognised by ECUs and function properly.”

Thinkcar has already noticed strong demand on entry-level products which are not only less expensive but are also now frequently purchased by technicians themselves, or by the business for all technicians, to ensure there’s a diagnostic capability on hand for every ramp on every job.
