Copart extends offer with fire fraud service

Copart is offering a Fire Scenes Examination service to insurance customers to help them identify potentially fraudulent claims.

Performed onsite at one of Copart’s nationwide operation centres, the service is a more cost-effective alternative to independent reports.

Copart has launched this service after its engineers completed bespoke, week-long Fire Scenes Examination training, delivered by private forensic provider, Prometheus Forensic Services.

Utilising practical hands-on examination of actual fire damaged vehicles, the course included accidental and deliberate fires, the chemistry and physics of combustion, electrical theories, scene examination and photography, and report writing.

With Covid highlighting delays in obtaining these types of investigation reports, we are excited to launch this new service directly from our own Copart sites, giving our customers quick and convenient access to the information they need to identify potentially fraudulent claims.
