S&G Response celebrates mental health champions

S&G Response’s Louise Smith and Daniel Crinson have been awarded certificates by Mental Health First Aid England for completing a course to become Mental Health First Aid Champions within the business.

The course provided an understanding of common mental health issues as well as learning how to identify signs of mental ill health.

Nik Griffiths, S&G Response’s operations director said,We are happy to have provided the opportunity for Louise and Dan to learn about mental health first aid and appreciate the level of passion and engagement they have displayed when taking part in the course.

‘We look forward to the additional support they can offer to our people as mental health & well-being advocates. This is an important step for S&G Response; establishing resourceful first aiders who are available to help improve the well-being of our people in line with our continued mission to raise awareness around the issues that affect so many of us. Our mission is to eradicate mental health stigma in the work place.’

Daniel Crinson, S&G Response software development, said, It was an eye opening day for me and I feel that I gained a lot of valuable skills and knowledge. Personally, I think it says a lot about how seriously S&G Response actually value us, not just as employees, but as individuals, by providing access to resources like BEN and Mental Health First Aiders for the times we feel our mental health or well-being isn’t at its best.’

Louise Smith, S&G Response client relationship manager said, The Mental Health First Aid course was incredibly insightful, it took us on an emotional journey with a theme of ‘it’s okay to not be okay’. The learning experience helped to empower us and as a result we now have the skills and resources to assist employees who are experiencing issues with mental health to get the right help.’
