VW appoints Eric Felber

Eric Felber is to become the new head of communications for the Volkswagen commercial vehicles brand as of 1 November 2018.

He will report directly to the chairman of the board of management, Dr Thomas Sedran. He succeeds Dr Günther Scherelis, who is taking responsibility as spokesperson for environmental affairs and sustainability in group communications in Wolfsburg, also from 1 November.

Eric trained as a journalist and joined the Volkswagen Group in 2001. Following a number of different positions in business and product communications at AUDI AG, he moved in 2011 to the Volkswagen Group’s corporate communications department.

In autumn 2015, he became head of business and corporate communications / global media relations. Since July 2018, he has been responsible for the newly created corporate responsibility communications department.

Günther studied earth sciences. In 1990, he started at the Volkswagen brand in production-related environmental protection and in 1992 he moved to the public relations department. In 2008, he moved as head of corporate communications to the Spanish group brand SEAT and in 2009 became head of communications at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, USA. At the end of 2013 he returned to Germany, assuming responsibility once again for the commercial vehicle brand’s Communications department in Hannover.
