AA Approved Garages solution eases EV transition

AA Approved Garages has launched a new garage proposition at this year’s Automechanika Birmingham, with its new network offering geared towards easing the transition to servicing electric vehicles (EVs).

The company, which operates a network of more than 600 garages in the UK, is introducing three new membership options catering to businesses, consumers, or a combination of both, accompanied by tow-in services .

AA Approved Garages has also launched a new package for garages looking to take on more electric vehicle (EV) repair work within its network, tailored towards ‘making your garage EV ready’.

The move complements the business’ extensive suite of supplier partnerships, granting network members access to services ranging from tooling to training provision at discounted prices, including a series of EV training modules. The modules are designed to provide personnel who work with, near or around hybrid and electric vehicles, with a sufficiently broad awareness to ensure they are both well informed, safe and can confidently communicate with customers about these vehicles.

Anthony Garbacz, network director, AA Approved Garages, said: “We are delighted to bring this new proposition to market, with the opportunity to help even more of our customers to thrive that it brings. As the servicing, maintenance and repair (SMR) industry shifts towards electric vehicles, garages are facing a unique set of challenges. Lack of technical expertise is one, while specialised equipment is another.

“With our comprehensive suite of propositions, we are confident they will help to equip garages to thrive in the future.”
