Drivers daunted by the dark

With the clocks set to go back this weekend, it’s been revealed that 29% of UK motorists are nervous about driving in the dark.

That is the equivalent of more than 14 million drivers.

A survey of 2,000 motorists carried out by SEAT UK  also revealed that 31% of drivers actively avoid driving in the dark if possible. Of those who said driving in the dark makes them nervous, over two thirds (68%) said this is because they do not like having lower visibility.

Perhaps surprisingly, 18-24-year olds (37%) are most likely to feel nervous about driving in the dark, while experience counts, as only 25% of over 55s have concerns.
