Fix Nottingham makes major investment

Fix Auto Nottingham is the latest repair centre within Fix Auto UK’s network to invest a six-figure sum in order to future-proof its business.

Owners Carl and Stjohn Flint have remodelled the repair centre, fitted four new vehicle lifts to ensure every productive has a state-of-the-art workstation, installed a Beissbarth wheel alignment station and an ADAS calibration system.

The investment, Carl believes, ensures his bodyshop is one of only two independently owned repair centres in the region now equipped with vehicle manufacturer approved ADAS calibration systems.

Carl said, ‘If you want to stay ahead of the field you have to invest heavily in the latest equipment, it’s as simple as that. Like most repairers without ADAS calibration equipment, we regularly have to rely on outsourcing the service which through no fault of our own, regularly holds up the repair process.

‘The turning point for me came several weeks ago when, as an approved VW repairer, we had repaired a VW Transporter van but had to send it to either Leeds or Hereford for its ADAS recalibration. We opted for Hereford which was a 220-mile six hour round trip – which took valuable time. We now have the ability to not only do it ourselves, but offer the service to other repairers.’

Ian Pugh of Fix Auto UK said, ‘In business you cannot afford to stand still. That is exactly what Carl and the team at Fix Auto Nottingham along with other repairers within our network are doing, investing heavily in their businesses to ensure we provide the ultimate service to our insurer clients and our customers.’
