Autocar confirms event line-up

Autocar has revealed its line-up for its Great British Women in the Car industry event.

Citroen Global CEO Linda Jackson and Olympic-hockey medallist, Karen Brown, will be among the all-star cast taking to the stage at the Barbican Centre in London on 20 June.

As keynote speakers, Linda, a former Great British Women winner, and Karen, an Olympic field hockey bronze medallist, will be lending their insights as female leaders inside and outside the motor industry.

The event, organised by Autocar in association with the Society for Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), is backed by BMW, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, MINI, Nissan and Toyota.

It will also feature a discussion panel filled with high-profile leaders and moderated by the chair of the Great British Women judging panel, Rachael Prasher, who is managing director of Haymarket Automotive, which publishes Autocar.

Panellists include Paula Cooper, the first director of Toyota GB’s ConsumerOne function, alongside Jaguar Land Rover’s head of HR for product engineering, Michelle Hepden-Dyer.

BMW Group’s network facilities manager Fen Butler will offer retail expertise after delivering the global pilot for MINI’s new Corporate Identity, alongside Val Risk, Fujitsu’s client executive.

Alex Smith will lend his expertise as the managing director of Nissan, and Jane Skerry, HR director at Ford of Britain, will round off the panel discussion.

Autocar editor Mark Tisshaw commented, ‘This year promises to be the most exciting and engaging Great British Women event yet. Ahead of the event, we will announce the top 100 British women in the car industry, as well as nominating the most inspirational across 12 key areas of the business and an overall winner.’
