Howard Basford, one of the early adopters of the AudaEnterprise estimating and claims management solution from Audatex, has taken the pioneering step of implementing the system over a wireless network.
The results have exceeded all expectations, with highly-accurate estimates being produced in half the time normally allowed.
AudaEnterprise is an internet-based service which streamlines estimate management and communications by enabling multiple users within an organisation to view and access a centralised pool of jobs over a local or wide area network (LAN/WAN).
Howard Basford has extended the flexibility and accessibility of this innovative solution with the use of AudaEnterprise on portable pen-based tablet PCs which they have configured to operate over a wireless network. This enables Howard Basford’s estimating team to compile, calculate and network estimates, live, anywhere in or around the bodyshop.
'Our estimators are delighted with this new approach', said Neil Kirk, Managing Director, Howard Basford. 'It allows them to access all the features and functionality of AudaEnterprise whilst estimating at the car. There’s no need to make notes which then need to be re-entered back at the desk and no need to go to and from the vehicle to double-check details. Even at the desktop AudaEnterprise was saving us time, but now we’re seeing even greater efficiency.'
Howard Basford has installed AudaEnterprise across all seven of its sites and is enjoying the benefits of being able to manage the Group’s total estimating performance and activity within a single framework. The wireless networks have initially been implemented at three sites with plans to roll-out to all.
Neil Kirk estimates that he will see payback on the investment in the wireless technology and tablet PCs in less than 6 months.
