AI predicts next car purchase

A Bristol innovator is now using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to predict what car a customer will purchase next.

The technology has been introduced by family-run dealership Carbase. After months of development with technology partner Cognitive Services, the South West used car dealership has introduced Rob-Bot, which uses facial recognition and data analytics to give customers a list of makes and models it calculates will be exactly what they’re looking for in a new used vehicle.

Customers simply stand in front of Rob-Bot to receive a rundown of vehicle recommendations.

Rob-Bot has already helped the company’s contact centre with volumes of customer enquiries, answering simple questions and providing multiple choice options.

Carbase’s head of marketing and digital, Alex Jones said, ‘We believe buying a used car should be an exciting and enjoyable experience, which is why we’ve added Rob-Bot to our expert team. Our top priority is to help customers with their search to find their next car, and to have fun whilst doing so. The Rob-Bot provides just this.

‘Rob-Bot is part of Carbase’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience; intelligent technology is a big part of that. We are constantly working on ways to develop our website to make searching for a car easier, simpler and faster for the user.’
