Xpress Centres expands network

Xpress Centres has revealed details of its second phase of growth which will double the network to 40 locations within the next five months.

The first of 19 new centres opened at the Tesco Park Farm Extra in Ashford, Kent, with forthcoming launches opening from Exeter to Edinburgh.

‘We enter this period of expansion having had a very successful late spring and summer,’ said Craig O’Shaughnessy, Xpress Centres managing director. ‘We have never been busier and repair volumes are at record levels from our insurer, accident management and fleet partners and from our retail customers.’

Each Xpress Centre is a fully-equipped bodyshop which can repair and refinish up to four panels per job, including roofs and bonnets, wings, doors, quarter-panels, bumper and tailgates. Centres cater for cars and for light and high-roof commercial vehicles.

As the scope of work is narrower than the typical bodyshop, it is easier to predict the size and volume of work, enabling centres to run on a just-in-time basis. Work is deployed from Xpress Centres’ control and triage centre in Oxfordshire and all repairs are carried out same-day, with many taking less than half a day.
