Willard joins Tantalum

Connected car specialist and automotive industry thought-leader, Alexandra Willard has joined vehicle technology firm Tantalum Corporation to lead the company’s Air.Car programme.

Air.Car is Tantalum’s award winning platform, developed in conjunction with scientists from Imperial College London to compute real-time levels of the Nitrous Oxide gases being produced by any vehicle. Vehicle pollutants, especially Nitrous Oxides, are estimated to contribute to shortening the lives of circa 40,000 people a year in the UK.

Alex previously worked at Ford, Jaguar Land Rover and was the founder and ex-CEO of the telematics company, Lysanda. She has also held advisory roles with the likes of Google, Admiral and Allianz.

Alexandra Willard, new Head of Air.Car at Tantalum, said, ‘It is so exciting to lead Tantalum’s commercialisation of the Air.Car proposition. Air.Car revolutionises how we drive around our cities. I look forward to working with the highly skilled Tantalum team and developing this technology to save lives and win new business.’

Ozgur Tohumcu, CEO at Tantalum, said, ‘I am delighted that Alex is joining us. She effectively wrote the book on telematics and on-board diagnostic devices and will introduce Air.Car to the world’s cities and its drivers.’
