Volvo seeks next generation

Volvo Cars UK is in the process of recruiting its fourth group of apprentices during 2018.

Launched in 2016, the programme has proven to be a big success, with 25 students already on the programme. The training is conducted at Volvo’s new state-of-the-art training centre in Daventry and also at ITAS in Milton Keynes.

Steve Plunkett, Volvo body and paint development manager said, ‘Once again we are counting on the approved networks support this year, we have six positions already filled, so we are 50% of the way there. Many bodyshops on the network have already embraced the programme, so we are looking forward to seeing the amount of young students coming into the industry and joining the scheme increase further in 2018. At the end of the day these young people are the future of our industry. At Volvo, we are doing our best to address the skills gap in our industry.’

In the first instance to register interest in the scheme, approved bodyshops should contact a member of the Volvo body and paint team.
